We've built several fires in the Solo Stove Bonfire and have tested the temperatures with and without the heat deflector on top. We even used a digital infrared thermometer to measure the temperature close to the fire and to see if the deflector would live up to it's name.

Does it actually deflect the heat out to where you would likely be sitting?
